THERE were smiles all round as cricket returned to Kenilworth with Sunday’s ‘Two Castles’ 40-over friendly against neighbours Warwick.

The visitors batted first and made 144-6 in their innings with O’Sullivan hitting an unbeaten 48 and A Sharma a steady 41 not out as they shared in a long unbroken partnership after a few wickets had fallen.

Matt Casey had earlier snapped up 2-23 for Kenilworth’s Sunday XI, whilst there was a wicket apiece for Darius Potten-Ravenshad, Tom Skinner, Charlie Stranks and Chris Prophet.

In reply, Dan Horner made 33 and Prophet 27 not out for Kenilworth but the side fell behind the run rate and could only muster 125-6 at stumps as Warwick won by 19 runs.

Earlier, George Baines had made 16 and Dan Roden 10 as Bhatti took 2-20, whilst there was a wicket each for Malby, P Singh, A Singh and Sharma for the visitors in a game played in good spirit.

On Saturday, Kenilworth played an inter-club friendly in which the Shingler XI (152-3, Prophet 66no) defeated the Leach XI (148-7) by seven wickets.
