CRICKET: HUNNINGHAM’s first team earned a winning draw at the weekend on the road to Sheldon Marlborough CC.
Losing the toss and put into bat, Hunningham posted a score of 266/4 from their 50 overs – helped by big scores from Wale (89) and Kalsi (103*).
In reply, Sheldon Marlborough kept up with the run rate, though lost wickets at regular intervals – falling short on 252/9 by the close of play.
Kalsi proved the pick of the Hunningham CC bowlers with 23/4 from seven overs.
The second team also enjoyed a winning draw at home to Bedworth 33rds.
Bird lost the toss and Hunningham were asked to bat first, setting a mark of 224 for Bedworth to chase down after Hunningham lost eight wickets during the 45 overs – Reason (58) and James (40) top scored.
Bedworth chased well – and all results were possible going into the final overs.
But tidy bowling from Bird (50/3), Pettifer, James and King ensured Hunningham took the spoils with Bedworth ending up on 223/6.
