A RUGBY team from Leamington came away from the UK’s largest youth rugby festival with a winner’s trophy after claiming victory in the Under-10s Tigers Challenge tournament.
Old Leamingtonians Wildcats returned home from the Tigers Challenge Rugby Festival in Minehead as champions.
A fun-filled weekend on tour saw them finish runner-up to Narbeth RFC in the group stage before they went on to beat Hertford RFC in the final.
The team were then presented with their well-earned trophy by ex-England and Leicester Tiger’s star George Chuter.
“We had a fantastic time away on tour at the ESF Tigers Challenge at Butlins,” said Sarah King, from Old Leamingtonians RFC Wildcats.
“It’s been a great experience for us all and one which I’m sure the lads will remember for years to come.
“We had a great time across the whole weekend and put in some tremendous performances on the pitch.”
“For the teams to meet George Chuter topped off a fantastic weekend. The boys are all set to build on their success at the Tigers Challenge!!”
With over 250 boys and girls teams participating every year, the Tigers Challenge is the UK’s biggest youth rugby festival.
Chuter added: “To be crowned ESF Champions is a fantastic achievement.
“The team should be really proud of themselves. Well done to everyone involved with Old Leamingtonians RFC.”
