TWO Southam golfers have earned the chance to win an all expenses paid dream golf holiday to the Kingdom of Morocco after placing first and second in the latest ‘Road to Morocco’ event at Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel, Daventry.

Michael Clea, 34, who plays off 23, and 16-handicapper Andrew Thornton, 48, placed first and second at the event, which was one of a series of nationwide tournaments organised by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) and QHotels.

The ‘Road to Morocco’ series encompasses all 11 of QHotels’ golf resorts with 22 member events for both men and women with each winner being entered into a draw to win a trip to Morocco.

Clea has been entered into a draw which will see two lucky competition winners from the series, one male and one female, win a four-night Moroccan golf holiday for two people with flights included.

But as the Hellidon Lakes ladies’ competition winner was happy to pass her place in the draw to men’s runner-up Thornton, he too has the opportunity to win the much-coveted golf trip.

Winner Clea said: “Winning this event was a massive achievement for me as I’m fairly new to competitive golf, and, as a new member at Hellidon Lakes, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the club’s staff and members for making me feel very welcome from day one.”
