TWO young teams have been given a boost in the form of a brand new kit to take them into the new season.

Southam United Under-12s Saints and Devils teams received the donation from housebuilder Bloor Homes who is building at its Southam Grange development just down the road from the team’s pitch on Banbury Road.

Charles Hill, chairman of Southam United, said: “Bloor Homes’ generous donation has given the club and these two teams in particular a huge boost.”

Saints manager Jon Jones said: “Our last season was very promising and we grew in confidence as a team, winning most of our matches and gaining some invaluable experience.

“We’re looking forward to getting stuck into a new season with the new bright yellow and blue strip making sure we stand out from the competition.”

The club received a donation of £1,900 from the housebuilder which funded the new kits and other ongoing costs.

Vanessa Macnee, Regional Sales Director for Bloor Homes, said: “We were delighted to sponsor Southam United and make sure the two Under-12s’ teams start a new season with a new kit.

“We always look for opportunities to support the communities in which we build, and what better way to lend a hand than to help out aspiring young footballers.”
