Hunningham involved in close game against rivals Khalsa

Leamington Editorial 22nd May, 2017   0

CRICKET: HUNNINGHAM were unfortunate to miss out on a win at the weekend as the first team lost in a close contest against Leamington Khalsa.

The game was delayed due to rain, but once proceedings got underway Hunningham lost the toss and were put into bat.

Pettifer (38) and Khalsi (48) starred for Hunningham as the away team made 174 all out from 45 overs.

In reply, Khalsa were always behind the run rate until the final few overs.

They just got over the finish line, scoring 176/7 – scoring the necessary runs in the final over.

Elsewhere Hunningham Seconds gained a losing draw at home to Atherstone CC in another shortened game.

Saturday’s defeats were turned around on Sunday though as skipper Phil Blowey led his team to a win against Monks Kirby.
