WARWICKSHIRE Bears Wheelchair Basketball Club have been awarded financial support from Carling and Everards, helping fund a new sports wheelchair for local players.
After benefitting from the Carling ‘We Got This’ initiative, which encourages local projects across the UK, the club have been able to provide a further space in the team for members of the community to try out the sport for the first time.
Bears head coach Tom Masterson lauded the extra financial support from the lager brand in helping of the club’s female players, Michelle Quested, and said: “It already has made a major difference to Michelle’s confidence and abilities, inspiring her to train more and improve her game and fitness.
“It was amazing to see the difference in her performance having a new wheelchair to play in.”
