HOMELESS dogs are hoping to find somewhere to put their paws up this Christmas.
After the success of the Observer and Dogs Trust’s 12 Dogs of Christmas appeal in recent years – we are again appealing to readers to find a place in their hearts and homes for a four-legged friend.
Despite the impact of the pandemic, the Honiley-based rehoming centre has found homes for more than 600 dogs this year – and they are hoping it won’t be long before these twelve find their special someone too.
Assistant manager James Ackner said: “It has of course been a year none of us could have imagined, but thanks to the dog-loving public who have opened their hearts and their homes to our gorgeous dogs, we have continued to find dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages their ideal families.
“We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us in whatever way this year, and we have our fingers crossed that it won’t be too long before we are waving a very fond farewell to these dogs who are more than ready to head off to their forever homes.”
Butch is a two-year-old crossbreed who likes to get to know people slowly, but once he knows you, you have a friend for life.
He is a bright boy who enjoys training and is a fast learner so will keep his new owners on their toes.
Butch would like an adult only home with no other animals and will need owners who can be at home during the day.
The team will work with his new owners to continue his training, such as helping him when visitors come to the home and being left alone, so Butch can reach his true potential and enjoy life to the full.
