A flipping good time lined up for youngsters in Warwick

A PAN-tastic time is lined up for Warwick youngsters.

Warwick Rotary Club’s annual pancake races are set to take over the town on Tuesday February 20 – a week after Shrove Tuesday due to the schools’ half-term.

And children from eight local primary schools are set to battle it out around Market Square, cheered on by their parents, classmates and spectators from 1pm.

This year’s event is again supported by Tesco, providing the prizes, The Globe supplying hot pancakes, while local pubs and coffee shops can provide warm drinks.

A trophy will be awarded to each winning team.

Rotary club organiser Jackie Crampton said: “This is a nice way to keep a tradition alive and we are hoping for some fine spring weather on the day. Warwick Rotarians are out in force to marshall the event and this is one of the events we arrange for the local community.”
