Acts tune up for concert in aid of south Warwickshire addiction charity

A CONCERT to raise vital cash for an addiction charity takes place in Stratford next month.

Street Arts Project, which works with local homeless people, has organised the fundraising concert to take place at the Bear Pit Theatre on March 3.

And all the cash raised will be donated to New Chapters – a new charity that supports those experiencing addiction and mental health issues.

New Chapters will provide much-needed affordable long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation for people in Stratford, Leamington, and the surrounding area.

New Chapters founder Yvonne McKinnon identified the urgent need for a local facility offering full detox, counselling and residential recovery support for each client, for between two to three years.

Street Arts Project has also witnessed through their outreach work that addiction has to be dealt with first and foremost, but due to limited public budgets individuals have to travel out of area and are only allocated a short detox period.

The concert features popular musicians Katherine Abbott, Wes Finch, Jack Blackman and The Beautiful Wreck, Mos Isley Bros featuring Jono Wright, Spesh Maloney and Tim Walker.

Tickets are £10 and can be bought on the door at the Bear Pit Theatre in Rother Streer on a first come first serve basis or in advance at the RSC Box Office on 01789 333935.
