After hours viewing at Compton Verney

CULTURE vultures are being urged to make most of the longer and lighter evenings.

Compton Verney is inviting people to explore the historic house and grounds After Hours on Friday April 1, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

There will be a chance to meet the 2020 winner of Sky Portrait Artist of the Year competition, Curtis Holder, who will be creating live portraits, and to also hear the powerful voices of the African Choir of Norfolk.

Visitors can take in the colourful columns of the new Morag Myerscough installation on the front of the hhouse, before visiting the critically-acclaimed Through the Lens of Masterji and Portrait Artist of the Year: The Exhibition, which will both be open late.

Movie buffs of all ages can watch the selection of short films specially curated for Compton Verney by Digbeth’s own film festival pioneers, Flatpack.

And to complement the exhibition Through the Lens of Masterji, his daughter, Tarla Patel will be discussing her late father’s life and work.

The Human Library will also participate in a series of conversations between people who have different life stories to share. Each human ‘book’ will be available to discuss their experiences and answer question.
