Aliens and astronauts go free at Warwick bonfire event

BONFIRE night is on the way and there will be displays at Warwick Racecourse and Dallas Burston Polo Club near Southam.

Space is the theme of this year’s Warwick Town Bonfire with a firework show set to the music of Star Wars.

And children under 15 dressed as astronauts or aliens will get free entry to the event at Warwick Racecourse on Saturday November 2.

Organisers Warwick Lions, Warwick Rotary Club and Warwick Racecourse have brought in award-winning Fantastic Fireworks for the half hour display. There will be a five-minute display at 6pm to keep children entertained followed by the main show after the bonfire is lit at 6.30pm.




A range of refreshments will be available and all bars will be open.

Tickets are available in advance – adults and children over 15 £7, children under 15 £1, under three-years old free – online at warwickracecourse.co.uk and in local shops. Tickets are an extra £1 on the gate.


Gates open at 4.30pm to allow more time for children to enjoy the funfair on St Mary’s car park in Hampton Road.

Entry is at the main entrance off Bread & Meat Close, with free parking

Tickets are available from Torrys in West Street, the main Post Office; Claridges, Cabin News, Mellors, Warwick vacuum shop, the Tourist Information Centres in Warwick and Leamington, Woodloes Post Office, and Chase Meadow Community Centre.

The Dallas Burston Polo Club near Southam will again be celebrating bonfire night on Friday November 1 in aid of a good cause.

As well as the bonfire and firework display, there will be fun fair rides and a selection of food and drink stalls,

Funds raised will go to Dallas Burston’s chosen charity for the year, The Good Grief Project, set up by bereaved parents Jane Harris and Jimmy Edmonds to help people with grief. Visit thegoodgriefproject.co.uk for further details about the charity.

Tickets for the bonfire nigh are priced £5 (concessions under 14s and OAPs £4, under 3s go free). A family package is also available for £20 (two adults and three children).
