Armonico Consort launches streamed concerts

ARMONICO Consort is to launch a new series of streamed concerts.

The performances have been recorded at Leamington’s Pump Rooms and feature some of the critically-acclaimed choir’s favourite early music repertoire.

The first two shows, which have been conducted by artistic director Christopher Monks, will be released on Monday (March 8).

They feature Victoria’s Requiem in six parts and Naked Byrd – which is one of the choir’s most popular programmes.

New films will be released fortnightly and Armonico Consort’s freelance musician’s say the concerts have been providing valuable income.

Tenor Graham Neal told the Observer: “The effort made by Armonico Consort to engage musicians has been greatly appreciated.

“I’ve greatly enjoyed the repertoire. Victoria’s Requiem is one of my favourite works. The sessions involved very fine music making, a great team and a lot of fun.”

Tickets cost £7.50.
