WOULD-BE journalists at Arnold Lodge School were sniffing out stories.
A group of nine pupils from the school took part in the BBC’s annual School Report Day which saw over 800 schools across the UK take on the role of newsrooms.
From writing headline stories, to interviewing people and working to a strict deadline the youngsters got an insight into what it is to work as a journalist.
Teacher Christine Smith said: “Our students thoroughly enjoyed reporting the day’s news from their own angle and got to experience some of the real life pressures faced by journalists.
“I think our students have a new-found respect for the work journalists do on a daily basis.
“We got our stories on the school website by 4pm and made our deadline which was a relief!”
