Arrests made after people gather in town centre following 10pm curfew

ARRESTS were made after people gathered in Leamington following the 10pm curfew.

Police were called to the town centre at around 10pm on Saturday (October 10) to encourage social distancing after pubs, bars and restaurants closed.

A 22-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested in Tavistock Street on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. He was later issued with a penalty notice.

Two people were arrested in connection with assaulting a man in his 30s in Bedford Street.




A 31-year-old man from Wolverhampton was cautioned for assault.

And Mark-Anthony Ramsay, age 32, from Duckett Place, Whitnash, was charged with assault. He will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates Court on Friday November 20.
