Arrests made as police operation aims to make Warwickshire's roads safer

POLICE have arrested a 28-year-old man from Stratford on suspicion of theft, going equipped to steal and having no insurance.

He was arrested along with a 23-year-old man from London after their vehicle was stopped by officers on the A46 near Kenilworth.

The vehicle was initially pulled over for no insurance but officers recovered number plates, four catalytic convertors, cutting equipment and car jacks from the vehicle at 11.30am today.

Both are currently in custody at Leamington awaiting interview.




They were stopped as part of a police roads operation.

Insp Jem Mountford said: “The focus of our operation today is to make Warwickshire’s roads safer and officers are looking for people that could pose serious danger to themselves and other road users.”


A 28 year-old man from Coventry was also arrested for being wanted on warrant, after his vehicle was stopped and he was also taken into custody.
