AN ARTISTIC volunteer has spent her free time decorating Warwick Hospital’s Swan Ward.
Esther Evans, who started off singing to patients dressed in fun 50’s style clothing has since turned her efforts to adding some colour to the maternity ward.
Esther has completed a detailed mural on the front reception desk, and is hoping to work her magic on the staff room as well.
She has been incorporating infection-control friendly contact paper into her designs to comply with her mantra “Just because it has to be sterile, it doesn’t mean it has to look sterile.”
Esther has had support from local companies, with over 40 organisations offering to help with her enhancements.
Esther said: “I wanted to make the hospital look bright and inviting, and I have had such an amazing response from local companies that were willing to help out. I can’t thank them enough.”
Ward manager Kiera Mason said: “We are really grateful to Esther for sharing some of her creativity with us. The mural looks fantastic. We are looking forward to seeing what the rest of her plans are!”
