ACADEMY award-winning actor Russell Crowe has praised Warwick Castle calling it a ‘great adventure for kids’.

The 52-year-old Australian visited the castle on Wednesday (July 6) and posted a picture to his Twitter account, tweeting: “What an excellent adventure for kids. Some great characters on the dungeon tour!”

It is believed he visited the castle with his children, two sons aged nine and 12 before going to see nearby Stratford.

The actor and his son also visited Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust in Henley Street, Stratford.

He is most famed for his role as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the 2000 hit film Gladiator, for which he won a host of awards.

He has since gone on to appear in blockbuster films including Les Misérables, Noah and has most recently been seen in The Nice Guys opposite Ryan Gosling.
