A COVERS band formed 27 years ago, and which included a member of Motorhead in their ranks, are rocking on.
Leamington-based V8 played their first gig in the now-closed Kelly’s Bar on Court Street in 1989.
Frontman Dave Cowan from Stockton and drummer Chaz Pullen from Leamington have been the driving force behind the group, accompanied in recent years by Mark Patton on guitar and bassist Christian Pluska, who both hail from Coventry.
Dave told the Observer: “It seems the only thing that has changed over the years is the age of the audience.
“Unfortunately there are fewer venues in the local area but we have plenty of old faces still attending and a young new crowd which ensures the band goes on.
“Some of our highlights have including Motorhead guitarist Wurzel joining the band for six months and us all playing to a packed house at Kelly’s in Leamington.
The band have a number of shows scheduled across Coventry and Warwickshire this year.
