Barnardo's wants your unwanted coats as festive campaign is launched

A CHILDREN’S charity is encouraging residents to keep warm and stylish this winter by launching a campaign to raise vital funds.

Barnardo’s has launched the ‘Coat Exchange’ campaign to encourage people to donate a pre-loved coat to the charity’s store in Leamington until Saturday (December 24).

In exchange for donating a coat, visitors will receive a unique £10 voucher to spend on their new season wardrobe at Evans – either in-store or online.

The charity works to transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable children living in the UK, and organisers are hopeful the festive campaign can help make this Christmas special for those in need.

Coats received by Barnardo’s will be re-sold or recycled to help support vulnerable children, young people and families.

Barnardo’s chief executive Javed Khan said: “The Coat Exchange is a fantastic initiative and we’re excited to be working with Evans.

“This opportunity will not only reward those who generously support Barnardo’s, but help vulnerable children such as those at risk of sexual exploitation and living in care.”

Evans Managing Director Fiona Ross said: “We hope this campaign can raise awareness and essential funds so Barnardo’s can continue to help transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children.”

If you’re interested in donating an unwanted coat, visit Leamington’s Barnardo’s shop on Victoria Terrace.
