A BIG-hearted seven-year-old from Warwick is collecting toys to donate to youngsters spending Christmas in hospital.
Ivy Fletcher became aware there were children having to spend the festive period in hospital after reading the Animal Ark book “Terrier in the “Tinsel”. In the book the main characters collect Christmas gifts to donate to their local children’s hospital.
And as a result, Ivy decided she wanted to do the same.
Her mum Amelia got in touch with the children’s ward at Warwick Hospital and asked if they would be happy for Ivy to advertise for donations and they were over the moon.
A donation point has been set up at Ivy’s school – Westgate Primary – where members of the public can also drop off a toy.
Warwick Hospital has asked that all toys be brand new and wipeable (no cuddly toys) to prevent infection.
