Bikes for two ensures care home residents keep good company

CYCLING side by side is now all the rage at a Warwickshire care home.

WCS Care has introduced a side-by-side bike-for-two, known as a ‘companion bike’ and cycle tracks, at Castle Brook in Kenilworth and Drovers House in Rugby.

Ed Russell, director of innovation for the charity, said: “Spending time outdoors has lots of benefits for older people and people with dementia.

“Not only can the fresh air help you feel happier, it can also reduce stress. The side-by-side bike-for-two is a great excuse to get outdoors, and give your health and well-being a boost.”
