Bowling friends set themselves charity ten pin bowling challenge

FRIENDS are preparing to take to the bowling lanes for charity.

They will be taking on the Ten Thousand Pin Challenge at Leamington Ten Pin Bowling later this month.

A team of ten will bowl ten games each and attempt to score at least 10,000 pins – which means averaging over 100 per game. And they are aiming to raise £1,400 to buy 100 baby boxes for charity Child.Org, which provides new mums in Kenya with safe sleeping information and a safe place for their baby to sleep.

Team leader Des Reynolds said: “I did a similar challenge myself a few years ago, and just failed to reach my target. I’m hoping that be getting some friends on board we’ll succeed this time, and even if not it’s a great cause anyway.”

Many of the team are friends from Warwickshire County Council Staff Cricket Club.

The event takes place on the evening of Sunday January 26. Anyone interested in sponsoring or providing prizes can contact Des on [email protected] or click here to support the challenge.
