Brakes' supporters trust chairman braves the shave for cancer charity

A FOOTBALL fan made the most of half-time – by shaving his hair off for charity.

Nick Rogers – chairman of Leamington Football Club supporters trust Brakes – underwent an intensive ‘growing regime’ before losing his hair and beard at the club’s home ground on Harbury Lane.

Nick lost his hair to raise money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support and Mesothelioma UK – a type of lung cancer – after his dad died from the illness around 13 years ago.

He said: “Many of us have been touched by cancer in some way. I am ‘braving the shave’ in memory of my dad Alan Rogers and also by way of thanks for the caring support from the local Macmillan nurses.”

Nick has so far managed to raise some £750 in donations, but hopes to achieve even more.
