British Motor Museum encouraging youngsters to make a racket with a ratchet

YOUNGSTERS are being encouraged to make a racket with a ratchet.

The British Motor Museum at Gaydon is staging three workshops as part of Curriculum Week this summer, including one for performing arts, which will see pupils take part in a percussion session led by professional drummers, using a variety of car-parts and tools. Pupils will learn basic skills – from technique to timing.

Other workshops planned will focus on technology and engineering and road safety.

Caroline Reid, education officer at the British Motor Museum said: “The museum’s Curriculum Weeks are designed for various key stages and are an ideal opportunity to spend a day focusing on a single curriculum topic.

“The days are designed to be fun, engaging as well as educational and enable schools to explore in more depth particular themes that they are learning.”
