A HUSBAND and wife business team have been encouraging people to get active for their own benefit and for that of South Warwickshire Foundation Trust.
Ellen and Scott Simpson, who run Southam-based AutoFastners, decided they wanted to help the under-pressure NHS during the crisis.
So they urged family and friends to run, cycle, skip or even scooter for which they made a £10 donation for every kilometre covered.
And after 138 people covered 1,050km, the generous couple donated £10,500 to the trust, which runs hospitals in Warwick, Stratford, Leamington and Shipston.
Scott said: “The best thing about all of this has been everyone coming together to do our little bit during a time like this. From experienced runners doing big distances, to people that haven’t ran in years, to people that have never ran at all and probably won’t again.
“I’ve made the donation to South Warwickshire NHS, toward their covid-19 fund which aims to support staff and patients.
“They asked me to say a huge thank you to everyone that got involved.”
