Cafes, bars and restaurants can apply for licence to place furniture on street

Leamington Editorial 14th Aug, 2020   0

CAFES, bars and restaurants can now apply for licences to place furniture on the pavement.

The ‘pavement licence’ supports businesses to operate safely while social distancing is in place and Warwick District Council hopes it will help bring income in over summer.

Council spokeswoman Coun Judy Falp said: “We encourage and support local businesses with their applications for this new licence, which will not only help them to operate safely while social distancing measures remain in place, but will also add to a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere in our towns in the crucial remaining weeks of the summer season.”
