A CAMPAIGN to keep bus passes and invest in public transport rolls through Warwickshire next week.
The TUC Midlands Pensioners’ Network will take their message on a tour of the area to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme – better known as the bus pass.
With 500 bus routes withdrawn or reduced last year, and funding for buses cut by a third since 2010, the group will campaign to keep the bus pass as a universal means-tested benefit, and for a bus service which meets people’s needs.
The group will be in Leamington on Thursday April 19 – on the Parade and outside Pump Room from 2 pm to 4pm.
