Cancer survivor helps those who helped him by taking on gruelling run

Leamington Editorial 31st May, 2017   0

A COURAGEOUS cancer survivor has celebrated a ten year health milestone by running ten kilometres.

Tom Clarke was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma – which affects vessels and glands around the body – when he was just 14.

And now the 24 year-old is helping those who helped him by raising money from the run, which was organised by sister Jess, around Hyde Park.

The Leamington resident was joined by over 30 friends and family to do two laps of the London park, raising £9,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Clarkes are no strangers to fundraising for cancer charities and celebrated Tom’s eighth and ninth stone milestone in the same way – including a ‘Race for Life’ done by Jess & their mum.

Tom said: “I feel so privileged to be able to exploit my good health by running to raise money for the causes that helped me when I needed it. This year, thanks to Jess, I got to run alongside some of my favourite people”
