Car driver dies after crash with bus

A WOMAN has died following a crash involving a car and a bus yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident at the junction of the B4100 and Oakley Wood Road at Bishops Tachbrook near Leamington shortly after 4.30pm. Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Srensham attended the scene.

An ambulance spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered a woman, who was the car driver, in a critical condition. Ambulance staff administered advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, and the best efforts of colleagues from the police and fire services, it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The bus driver was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire by land ambulance.

“There were no other passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.”
