THOUGHTFUL staff at a Leamington care home are hoping more than a cup or two will be raised at their coffee morning.

Priors House Care Home is set to mark Huntington’s Awareness Week by hosting the event in the coffee shop at their Old MIlverton Lane base on Thursday May 14.

Staff are hoping they will not only raise funds but also awareness of the neurodegenerative condition, which affects muscle coordination and leads to cognitive decline and psychiatric problems.

Featuring a ten minute presentation called ‘Cake that HD!’ from Huntington’s sufferer and Priors House staff member, Debbie Wall, there will also be a raffle as well as cakes and coffee.

The event, running from 10am until 12.30pm, is free and everyone is welcome.

* LILLINGTON Free Church is holding a coffee morning to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a charity caring for children with cancer, on Saturday (May 2).

Tea, coffee and other refreshments will be on sale at the Cubbington Road church from 10.30am.
