A ‘ONCE in a lifetime’ celebration recognising 550 years of the founder of Sikhism has been held in Leamington.

The Leamington and Warwick Sikh Forum organised the event at the Royal Spa Centre which saw more than 500 people celebrate Guru Nanak’s  ‘Gurpurab’ – the anniversary of a Guru’s birth.

Along with talks there were hymns, prayers and stories told by local Sikh children.

Sikh Forum chairman Sukhi Sanghera said: “Sikhs in Leamington, Warwick and the wider community all embraced a once in a life time opportunity to celebrate the 550 years of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and legacy.

“It was a fun-packed event and a amazing evening. Thank you to everyone who supported us.”
