Children can enjoy a fun-filled summer of free activities

CHILDREN from low income families can enjoy a fun-filled summer of free activities in south Leamington.

Young People First – the new name for Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs – has received a grant of more than £12,000 from National Grid to help them run a summer programme for young people in the Brunswick area.

It will include sport, crafts and cooking along with day trips to theme parks.

Trustee and volunteer Lucy Parker said: “This project will give at least 60 young people something to look forward to this summer holiday.”

And Brunswick councillor Kristie Naimo said, “The work that Young People First do with the young people in our community is nothing short of exceptional. They have made a tremendous impact and I know there will be many families who will be so pleased to hear about this recent success.”

The programme runs for five weeks from Monday (July 24).
