Children seen deliberately starting fires across Kenilworth

DESCRIPTIONS of youngsters who deliberately lit a series of fires around Kenilworth have been sent to police.

Firefighters dealt with three blazes across the town within the space of a couple of hours yesterday (Tuesday).

The first saw a pile of cut trees set alight in the park off Ebourne Close around 7pm.

An hour later crews were called to a traffic cone on fire in a bin on Talisman Square, and then to another bin fire on Station Road.

A Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The children were seen lighting the fires and their descriptions have been sent to the police.

“While we are at these nuisance fires we aren’t available to attend an incident where someone might be in real need of our help. We might not be able to get to them in time to save their life.”
