Choir hitting the high notes at care home

A CHOIR were in tune to the sum of more than £500 at a charity concert in aid of a Southam care home.

The Harmoneers performed at Galanos House – a Royal British Legion care home with a specialist dementia wing.

The concert by the non-profit community choir came about after a choir member’s relative was cared for at Galanos House.

The concert – which featured songs such as California Dreamin’ and Fields of Gold – and a raffle raised raised £539 for the care home.




Jo-Anne Wilson, Galanos House manager, said: “We are very grateful to the Harmoneers for their very kind donation. The residents had a lovely afternoon watching them sing and really enjoyed the concert.

“Music and singing are a very important part of life at Galanos House. We will use the money donated to buy some new musical instruments and song sheets for the homes and Bow Tie Choir when they are performing.”

The choir sing at Cubbington Social Club every Monday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

The Leamington Singers rehearse on Thursdays in Whitnash.
