Colleagues and canines take on canal circuit for cancer charity

COLLEAGUES and canines from Leamington teamed up to put their best foot forward for charity.

Workmates Alex Pearson, Justin Cole, Stuart Potts, Sharon Kavanagh, Leanne Bowen, Colette Brown, Mel Nalson, Matt Roe, along with pooches Archie and Chester, took on a 28-mile walk in aid of Young Lives VS Cancer.

The team, who work at Morrisons Leamington, walked from Birmingham city centre, along the Grand Union Canal, back to the store – raising over £800 for the charity.

The store’s community champion Alex said: “We wanted to really push ourselves and the walk from Birmingham was definitely that!

“We did the walk in eight hours and it was safe to say we all had poorly feet at the end of it.

“The team took on the walk in their own time to support the charity and raise a fabulous total. We also had Hatton Locks Cafe support us by donating free drinks and cake to us as we got ourselves ready for the next four miles. Thank you to Paula and Kevin for your continuous support.”

So far the store has raised over £26,000 for Young Lives VS Cancer.
