A FLORISTRY lecturer and a graduate from Moreton Morrell College blossomed at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Lecturer Tina Aram and 21 year-old recent graduate Zoe Rowlinson both won medals at the world-famous show.

Tina was a finalist in the RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year competition while Zoe competed in the RHS Chelsea Young Florist of the Year final.

They both created spectacular Brazilian-inspired carnival headdresses and Zoe was awarded a Bronze medal, while Tina received a Silver Gilt Medal.

College floristry lecturer Jane Benefield said: “Huge congratulations to Tina and Zoe – their headdresses were fabulous and they thoroughly deserved their medals.

“I hope their success inspires more of our students to get involved in competitions and show what they can do.”

Zoe is following up her success by giving a talk as part of the Fabulous Floristry event at Moreton Morrell College on Wednesday June 24, starting at 7pm.

Internationally renowned, award-winning florist Neil Whittaker will also be showcasing his skills with a floristry demonstration, and guests will also be able to see an exhibition of the work of graduating students.

The British Florist Association will be there with information about joining and books and floristry sundries will be available from wholesale stands.
