Community centre seeks festive-minded crafters

A COMMUNITY centre in Warwick is keen to hear from festive-minded crafters.

The Gap is hosting a new Christmas craft fair on Saturday December 4, at 39 Oakwood Grove, to raise funds for the centre and a charity which helps vulnerable older people and disadvantaged children and young people.

And organisers are looking for talented locals who might like to rent a table.

The idea is the brainchild of Cherylynnne Harrison, who runs The Gap’s Knit ‘n’ Natter coffee morning on Thursday mornings for over 55s.

The knitters, who have been making Christmas pudding chocolate orange cases, stars, Christmas wreaths, Father Christmases and tree decorations, are keen to hear from craftspeople to join them at the fair by hiring a table at £7.50 each.

The charity event, being held indoors at the community centre, exactly four weeks before Christmas Day, will be a chance for locals to get together in the festive spirit and buy homemade presents in a Covid-responsible locatio.

Any crafters who are interested can email [email protected] for more information and to book a table, or call 01926 494200 by Friday November 5.

The Gap is also looking for people to join a friendly Art Group on Monday afternoons from 2pm to 4 pm.

The Knit ‘n’ Natter, Crochet ‘n’ Chatter coffee morning is held on Thursdays from 10 am to noon.

For more information email [email protected] or call 01926 494200.
