VOLUNTEERS have teamed up to ensure everyone in the community can celebrate Christmas this year.
Representatives from Warwick Lions, Community Gifting Group, Morrisons, Warwickshire Search and Rescue and Cubbington Mill Care Home have been collecting shoeboxes to give to people and animals in need.
More than 200 boxes have been distributed, with customers in Morrisons and staff at Pets at Home filling the boxes with treats.
They have been donated to Warwick Children’s Services, local families who are struggling, care home residents who will not see family and Dogs Trust .
Organiser Alex Pearson, Morrison’s community champion, said: “We all worked together to make sure people in our community would receive a Christmas gift.
“I knew how hard Christmas would be this year with no money so I decided to get a group of people together to support others during these tough times.”
