Community grants help ten local charities

COMMUNITY grants have made a difference to more than ten charities this summer.

Leamington Town Council allocated nearly £11,000 to community projects and charities including rescue team First Responders, Leamington Canal Festival, Warwickshire Pride, the Brownies international camp and Safeline.

Other projects supported included one offering free books to schools and community groups, a gardening project at Lillington Youth Centre, and lipreading courses.

Leamington mayor Heather Calver said: “The town council’s community grant fund is open for community and voluntary groups delivering projects which will benefit resident of Leamington.

“I’m delighted we have awarded more than £10,000 to very worthwhile projects for the coming year.”
