THE COMMUNITY is being welcomed to join Sikhs and Hindus in Leamington to celebrate Vaisakhi on Saturday (April 27).
There will be dancing, from classical to bhangra dances, and food and drink will be also be served.
Culturally, Vaisakhi celebrates the harvest season and farmers celebrate with music and dancing. Religiously, Vaisakhi celebrates Sikh New year and commemorates the formation of the Khalsa Panth. It also marks New Year in many Hindu communities and is day that Swami Dayanand founded Arya Samaj.
The event takes place at the Sikh Cultural and Sports Community Centre on Queensway from 3.30pm to 6pm.
