Coronation Street stars to join Party on the Pitch at Southam Rugby Club

PARTY on the Pitch returns to Southam Rugby Club this weekend to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

The family event takes place at the club’s Station Road ground on Saturday (July 15) from 3pm.

Coronation Street stars Daniel Brocklebank (Vicar Billy Mayhew) and co star Peter Ash (Paul Foreman) be dropping in to help with a raffle to raise funds for MNDA.

There will also be live bands and children’s entertainment,

Funds are being raised in memory of Simon Adams and in support of Seb Bousie and Samuel Thomas.

Simon was just 46 when diagnosed with MNDA in 2009 and immediately set about raising £1million towards MND research.

Although he lost his battle with the disease in 2011 his personal fund now stands at over £550,000.

Sebastian – who was born in Stockton before later moving to Southam – first noticed symptoms in 2016 but was only diagnosed in 2019. He remains determined to make more people aware of MND.

Dan is a husband and father who began having symptoms in 2018 and was diagnosed the following year at the age of 40.

Dan managed to continuing working until March this year but has now retired, although he continues to fight the disease. He is supported by consultants and nurses who provide his care, and also by Shakespeare Hospice and Myton Hospice which provide support to himself and his family.
