Could be a lucky escape for puzzle-lovers

PUZZLE-solving fans could soon be in their fifth element, following recent proposals for an ‘Escape Room’ in Leamington.

Plans have been submitted by Experimental Escape Ltd for a virtual reality and puzzle solving experience to be developed in former offices on Warwick Street.

They say if the business was given the go-ahead they hope it would be the ‘top thing to do’ in Leamington.

Live escape adventures were invented in Japan, and have recently taken the country by storm with rooms springing up in major cities across the country, including Coventry and Birmingham.

The aim of the video-game inspired challenge is for players to figure out the secret to escaping a locked room, within a certain time limit.

The applicant says noise levels will be minimal with sound from the games at ‘normal TV level’. They also say the business would create between six and 12 new jobs for the area.

Creators Experimental Escape said: “The facility will be the one of the few centres in the UK offering a virtual reality experience alongside an ‘escape room centre’ creating a strong attraction for visitors.

“We hope to become the number one fun thing to do in Leamington as rated on TripAdvisor, helping increase the amount of choice for tourism and fun day out activities in the centre of Leamington.”
