Dangerous parking in Warwick will lead to 'imminent accident' say residents

CONCERNED residents say dangerous parking on Warwick’s Cape Road will lead to an ‘imminent accident’.

Richard McLaughlin, who lives on the road says council staff from Saltisford Office Park are parking along the road, making it difficult for cars to pass through the area.

He stressed this was particularly dangerous for children trying to cross the road to get to the common, and that it could potentially cause an issue for ambulances going to and from Warwick hospital.

Mr McLaughlin believes staff are being encouraged to park there by their supervisors and says the parking is ‘reckless and erratic’.

He has urged the council to find an alternative solution for its employees, and has even suggested implementing a park and ride service.

A Warwickshire County Council spokesperson said they had not yet been made aware of any specific incidents involving council staff, but they would be reminding colleagues to park safely and responsibly following the concerns.
