A CARJACKER drove into a deliveryman whose van they had stolen in Kenilworth.

The driver was dropping off a package on Moorlands Avenue when thieves targeted his red delivery van around 6.30pm on Friday (September 1).

A car thought to be a silver Vauxhall followed the van, and its driver pulled up beside the van and jumped in as the van driver went to make the delivery.

As the vehicle reversed down the road at high speed, the delivery driver gave chase but was knocked over by the van, suffering minor injuries.

The Vauxhall also sped off and turned left towards the clock tower.

The van was found abandoned shortly after outside Kenilworth Cricket Club.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the hijack and urge anyone with information to call 101.
