PEOPLE living with diabetes are being urged to take advantage of a national event on their doorstep where they can meet the UK’s leading clinicians and experts.
The UK arm of international charity Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation (DRWF) is marking its 25th anniversary by holding a major event at Chesford Grange near Kenilworth on Saturday September 16.
It will bring together Britain’s biggest experts on breakthroughs and barriers, including leading NHS healthcare specialists and people living with all types of diabetes, to discover the latest advances, techniques, and trends to help people stay well until a cure is found.
DRWF CEO Sarah Tutton said: “This unique one-stop-shop of everything diabetes will have specific programme content for people of all ages living with every type of diabetes as well as family members, carers, and healthcare professionals.”

The Midlands like the rest of the country is affected by the rising number of people living with diabetes, with more than five million people now diagnosed in the UK. It is regarded as a rapidly escalating crisis.
United Through Diabetes will feature insights into the latest DRWF funded research which includes the ground-breaking work of the Human Islet Isolation Facility in Oxford and pioneering advances by scientists across the country.
A showcase of the latest technology including Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) being made available for people living with type 2 diabetes via Dexcom. Plus, information on Abbott who will have information on their FreeStyle Libre 2 Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) real time system for people living with type 1 diabetes.
The day will run from 9am to 5pm.
