PLAYGROUNDS across the district are getting a £250,000 upgrade.

Warwick District Council is installing new equipment in Othello Avenue and Ophelia Drive in Warwick Gates, Twycross Walk on the Woodloes in Warwick, and Midland Oak and Rushmore Street in Leamington.

The improvements have already begun and the parks have been fenced off while work takes place.

Spokesman Coun David Norris said it is part of the council’s drive to invest in the district’s 170 parks.

He said: “An active lifestyle is very important for everyone in our district, I am therefore very pleased to see the start of significant improvement programmes for these much used parks.

“This investment will give our local communities fun, safe and accessible open spaces to enjoy for many years to come.”
