Dog put to sleep after being attacked by another dog

Leamington Editorial 24th Apr, 2017   0

A DOG had to be put to sleep after it was attacked in Kenilworth.

A woman was walking her friend’s Jack Russell cross Pug along with a family member who was walking her own dog.

Both were on leads and being walked on the path behind Lawrence Gardens at around 6pm on Friday (April 21).

But a white, stocky, American Pit bull type-dog – which was wearing no collar – is believed to have ran towards the small dog and attacked it.

The woman managed to rescue the dog before the Pit bull-type dog ran off towards Mill End park.

The Jack Russell Pug cross had to be put down because of its injuries.

Police are looking for anyone who saw the incident or saw a dog matching the description in the area at the time.

Call police on 101 or ring 0800 555 111 to speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.
