Dogs Trust fun day sets tails wagging

EVERY man and his dog had a paw-some time at the Dogs Trust Fun Day.

The Kenilworth branch of the charity held their annual fund-raising event at Hatton Country World – raising nearly £14,000 for the charity.

Hundreds of owners and their four-legged friends enjoyed some of the stalls available on the day and took part in dog shows and competitions.

Some of the winners included ‘Big Joe’ as best rescue, Kira as prettiest dog and Bo as best coat.

Spokeswoman Jane Hirons said: “We’d like to thank everyone who supported us by attending our Fun Day. It was lovely to see so many dogs and families enjoying a day out.

“Not only did we raise an amazing amount for the dogs in our care but we hope more dogs will be rehomed as a result of raising awareness of the charity.

“We are really pleased to announce that ‘Monty’ – who featured in the rehoming parade – has been reserved as a result of being seen on the day.

“We also want to say a big thank you to all the volunteers who helped us out.”
