Donations drive-ins being held in aid of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance

DRIVE-IN donation days are being held in aid of The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance

The WNAA is encouraging local communities to regift pre-loved or unwanted goods to keep its crews saving lives.

Donations can be brought to drive-in donation days being held in Rugby and Daventry later this month.

Approaching twenty years of service in 2023, WNAA’s crew is available 24/7, 365 days a year to deliver lifesaving critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, medical emergencies – such as cardiac arrest and accidents at home – and other incidents needing expert pre-hospital medical interventions.

With no government funding and relying solely on donations to remain operational, income from donation drives enables the charity to operate and reach those in their hour of need.

The first charity drive-in day takes place from 10am until 3pm on Wednesday January 25 at Blue Skies House, Butlers Leap in Rugby, and the second on Saturday January 28 at its Daventry warehouse.

WNAA Business Support Manager, Liz Kelly, said: “Whether it’s unwanted gifts, items people no longer love, items that no longer fit, or simply haven’t worn, we want them – if someone wanted those items once, give us the chance to let someone else love them again.”

The charity is encouraging its local supporters to donate clothes, shoes, accessories, bric-a -brac, toys and games, as well as electrical items such as PCs, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, and kindles.

For larger items such as furniture, people are asked to follow the usual process by getting in touch to arrange a free collection.

Liz added: “People’s unwanted and pre-loved items can help us continue our lifesaving work throughout the counties. Just book your slot and drop them off to us, we will be there on hand to help, and you don’t even need to worry about finding somewhere to park – it couldn’t be simpler.”
